About YEDA
The Young Electronic Designers Awards
Are you interested in electronics/technology?
Are you looking to get more involved in electronics?
Perhaps you are starting a GCSE, A level, or degree course
in electronics/technology? If you are, and think you have
what it takes to develop your own electronics project, then
the Young Electronic Designer Awards (YEDA) are for you.
High-tech innovations such as mobile phones and the Internet,
are changing the way we live our lives. Electronics and technology
are the driving forces behind these developments, and YEDA,
sponsored by organisations that are helping to shape the future,
is your big chance to make an impression.
YEDA challenges you to use your imagination to create, design
and develop a clever electronics prototype that can be applied
to an everyday situation, such as a sporting activity, hobby,
or task at work or in the home.
Taking part in YEDA will help you to learn more about electronics
as well as give you essential practical, technical, and marketing
experience, while having a lot of fun putting your idea into
practice. It also gives you the opportunity to win big prizes
for your efforts, presented at the annual awards ceremony,
attended by YEDA's patron His Royal Highness, the Duke of
York.
Now in its 18th year, YEDA is an annual competition open
to students in the United Kingdom, between 12-25 years old,
whether you are an electronics expert or simply an interested
beginner. YEDA rewards creativity and innovation not only
your level of technical skill.
So whether you feel you are an electronics expert or simply
a beginner, don't just sit there, accept the challenge and
enter YEDA.
